PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: Attend the “Meet the Pros” panel from 4:30-5:00 p.m. After our round-table discussion, we will welcome Derek Vigstol, technical lead for NFPA electrical services. He serves as a technical resource for the development and implementation of new products in support of NFPA electrical codes and standards. He is a member of the International Association of Electrical Inspectors. For us he will offer a comprehensive presentation addressing the changes in the 2017 National Electric Code (NEC) as they apply to several important aspects of a residential electrical systems including, GFCI and AFCI requirements, required outlets (wall space, small appliances, kitchen countertops and garages). A discussion of grounding and bonding will cover grounding electrode systems, bonding and equipment grounding.Wiring methods for the Service Entrance cable, Main Service panel, junction boxes, NM cable, and Internet cable will round out the presentation.
